This uniquely designed rug was hand-woven by artist Soledad Vásquez. With a background of cream this rug also incorporates the colors blue, red, yellow, and green. The geometrical patterns used to decorate this rug are referred to as the Cross of Mitla. These symbols represent the ruins of Mitla, the ancient religious city of the Zapotec indians, located in the Mexican state of Oaxaca near the home of Soledad Vásquez.
This rug measures 60" Long and 30" Wide and would be a nice display either hanging on a wall, draped over furniture, or placed on the floor in a low-traffic area.
